How we build

Every JH motorhome body is formed as a single one-piece moulding. It starts with a UV-resistant gelcoat, then a reinforced fibreglass layer, a high-density structural foam core, and a final inner skin of reinforced fibreglass. What comes out is light, extremely strong and completely joint-free — and because it's moulded, we have the design freedom to shape the distinctive, aerodynamic profile JH is known for.

That dense foam core does more than add strength and rigidity. It's a genuine insulator too, and with no aluminium or steel frame running through the walls there's nothing to carry heat or cold between the inside and outside of the van.

Inside the body, the furniture, walls and cleats are screwed and bonded — or fibreglassed — directly into the inner skin. Every join adds to the overall strength of the unit rather than leaning on a separate frame to hold things together.

With no wall or roof framing to work around, we can place internal walls and furniture wherever they make the best use of the space, which is exactly what gives our motorhomes their open, practical layouts. Bench tops, tables and vanities are made from Polystone — another tough, lightweight fibreglass material.

Our cabinetry is built from lightweight ply and plastic — never chipboard or craftwood. Every piece is made in-house by our own team and checked closely for fit and finish at each step.

It isn't the quickest, cheapest or easiest way to build a motorhome. But with thousands of kilometres of dirt roads, corrugations and rough tracks out there waiting to be explored, we wouldn't build yours any other way.
